Bokobokids Manifesto

In Bokobokids, we want to celebrate the joy and magnificence of African heritage.

We live in a multicultural society that is constantly changing.  Migratory movements mobilize millions of people, many of them are children.

We know that some people are more vulnerable than others and are at greater risk of being left behind. The United Nations has declared 2015-2024 the decade for people of African descent. With this declaration, the international community recognizes this specific group whose human rights must be protected and promoted. This group is made up of around 210 million people in the Americas and Europe alone!

In October 2022, the African descendant children report was released. It was highlighted that they suffer discrimination in several areas, including education, and they have more problems of low self-esteem. It was also warned of the need to change the negative narrative that currently exists, for example, in relation to the canons of beauty or the perception of poverty.

Bokobokids is committed to finding solutions to that problem. We are an online storytelling platform with offline activities that leaves no one behind and we promote diverse stories curated from different African cultures.

In Bokobokids, we want to celebrate the joy and magnificence of African heritage.  We want to empower all kids and to embrace the unity and happiness of Ubuntu, a uniquely African philosophy: I am because you are.

Through our stories based on the African Ancient Wisdom we bring to children the sense of communality, respect, dignity, value, acceptance, sharing, co-responsibility, humaneness, social justice, fairness, compassion, affection, fulfillment, love for the planet to promote flourishing for all life forms.

We need friends, trailblazers, influencers, storytellers and more to join us on this amazing journey into the future!
